So, your feet are suddenly painful. Or, maybe you’ve been nursing a sore toe for months. Perhaps you think your child might have a verruca. Or maybe your toenails are kind of a mess. There are many reasons why you might consider a visit to a Podiatrist

But, what to expect?

It would be natural to feel a little anxious about the process. The fear of the unknown can stop you doing what you need to do.

What’s your next step?

A visit to your local Podiatrist would be a top recommendation. Podiatrists undertake 4 years of full time academic and clinic-based study at university before we gain our qualification to work. We know about feet! (Some of us have been practicing for a little bit longer than this, too...)

When you ask to come see us you’ll be given an initial consultation and treatment appointment.

When you arrive we’ll welcome you to the treatment room.

Your Podiatrist will first have a chat with you about your medical history, and talk about what your main worries and issues are. Then we’ll take a wee look at your feet, and from there we can suggest what the best treatment options are and let you know what to expect. You are in full control at every step of the way. Your treatment might involve nail cutting, or removal of hard skin, adding padding to the insoles of your shoes, or advice on how to look after your feet at home.

Many people are apprehensive about their first treatment, but the vast majority of patients are pleasantly surprised to find the experience a positive one; even relaxing.

You’ll have a comfy patient chair to sit in and if you are not comfortable with anything at any time, let us know. This is YOUR appointment time and YOUR feet we’re working with. We want you to have a good experience with us and leave feeling great about your feet.

So if you have worries about your feet, speak to your podiatrist. We want you to feel better about your feet and we have lots of ways to help you do that.
